Visitors to Dunbar Leisure Pool will now benefit from a potentially life-saving automated external defibrillator (AED). The AED was funded by a donation from Dunbar Rotary Club and the decision to locate it at the Leisure Pool was made on the advice of the Scottish Ambulance Service. Sandy Mitchell, secretary of DCFR said: "Dunbar Leisure Pool was a logical choice for the first public access defibrillator in Dunbar due to its central location within the town, extended opening hours, high footfall and trained staff. Our eventual goal is to have a number of AEDs in various locations throughout Dunbar, thereby increasing the chances of survival for anyone unfortunate enough to suffer a cardiac arrest." Anyone interested in becoming a community responder or helping with fund-raising should contact Sandy through the contact page.
